Car owner opinions
Thinking of buying a Merc CLA 200d, I'd appreciate any pros and cons from anyone on here who owns/has owned one. Ta.

I had an E46 330 convertible , most unreliable car I have ever owned.
Coils
Water pump
Power steering pump
27 mpg on a run

8.3 around town.

Loved it tho.

Jo you was right about me selling my 1983 SL 500 they're still going through the roof price wise :-(

Not a car man, however had a Mercedes E320 cdi for 10 years and have not driven a car as smooth and sturdy as that. Driving was a pleasure. Vowed not to drive again until I can afford an old school classic Mercedes SL500.
For 40 years my mates ( a family - 4 fellas and a Mrs ) who are a lot more well off than me and could buy any car they wished , have only ever bought Mercedes.
I had no shame in sourcing parts I needed from scrap yards or second hand if the dealership was too dear.

Yeah but if your grounds are so small that your neighbours can see your cars, then you clearly aren't really winning.

A car is just a tool for getting you from A to B reliably, inexpensively, and in comfort. If you want to impress you neighbours and are of the same mindset as little boys like the Top Gear presenters then by all means pay , £30,000 for a machine when you can get one that does the job for a lot less. Then you can impress you neighbours by signalling how well off (and daft) you are.

Parking a 30k car in the street and supermarket car park horrifies me, not tight but just ain’t worth the loss

Re: Car owner opinions
I don't give a toss about cars. I like ones that can survive after a night upside down in a ditch.

Buy Japanese or Korean.

Pay for them in cash from an approved dealer when they are 2 or 3 years old, up to 20,000 miles tops.

Never go back to the approved dealer, take them to the trusted grease monkeys round the corner once a year for service and MOT.

I've got better things to think about and do than cars.

If you enjoy them - good for you!

Only owned one Merc in my life & it was bloody awful, by far the worst car I ever had starting in 1967! I have owned several BMW 5 series cars, all of them excellent!

Yeah that's what I guessed. And of course gets seen as a company asset and all the tax shit.

Personal it is, just need to find a good deal.Looked at Selectcarleasing, What Car etc. I'll need a quick delivery once mine is up for renewal as the firm will take it back and say over to you to source your own.

I think business lease is if you are VAT registered. It basically just takes 20% off.

Re: Car owner opinions
My lease through work is coming to an end next year, and they won't allow us to lease through them any more. So I'll get the money and have to look for my own lease.

Just wondering whether I can opt for business lease if I am using for work?

Currently have the Merc C350e. Nice car but not a proper hybrid. Does next to nothing on the battery.

Rossai, cheapest company i have found is xlcr vehicle management.

if you want i can whomail you he guys details.

i've got for an upgrade colour exterior and interior as well as higher mileage etc and they are certainly coming out best by a decent way price wise.

you still have to do the handover at tesla.

if you haven't test drove one then do so as they are a great drive.
